Organizers to liven up Hisarlak on May 14 with all-day program suitable for all ages.

Following a survey that explored cultural life in Kyustendil and the audience's preferences showing that its residents need different formats of events and entertainment and the results analyzed, the organizers of the Ritual Gatherings festival are preparing a one-day micro festival.

Already this month, the Ritual Gatherings Music and Contemporary Art Festival will bring a different musical sound to the city, with a special event featuring some of the most popular local artists. On May 14, several creative workshops for children and adults will be presented at the Hisarlac, between 12 and 6 pm.

Claudia Georgieva will tell and show more about the relationship between colors and moods in the workshop "Colours and moods around us", and then what has been learned can be put into practice, the aim being to decorate trees in Hisarlac. Fans of traditional crafts will be able to get closer to the mystique of the Kukeri in a workshop on making Kuker masks with natural materials with Elenka Savkova. The program also includes an ecological paper recycling practice with Evgeni Serafimov, as well as cone art by young artist Boyana Alexova. For children, there are activities for making small leather goods between 2 and 5 pm from the workshop "Skilfully".

The music program starts at 6pm and will continue until 10:30pm with a DJ set from the founders of Ritual Gatherings, the duo The Foreigners, and then will continue with Factuaw, a rising act at many Bulgarian festivals and music events.

The event and activities are completely free of charge.

The audience survey was initiated by the Ritual Gatherings Cultural Festival and aims to identify the desires, motivations, frequency and type of events preferred by local audiences. It involved 150 people, aged between 18 and 55+, living and working permanently in the city. In parallel, the local cultural and folklore heritage, in particular the specific rituals and traditions in the municipality of Kyustendil, their preservation, development and promotion through interactive methods were explored. On the basis of this information, the organizers will prepare a cultural profile of the municipality to support it in the strategic development of the local cultural scene.

Ritual Gatherings an annual interdisciplinary cultural festival accompanied by a series of urban events that combines music, contemporary art, traditional rituals, culinary and practical ecological practices.

Ritual Gatherings 2022 will be a unique 5-day July Morning experience, divided into two parts: a 2-day forum in the city of Varna with presentations and discussions aimed at people from the creative industries, followed by a 3-day festival on the beach at the mouth of the Kamchia River with an evening music program with live bands and popular names from the global and local electronic scene, a contemporary Bulgarian art exhibition on the beach, discussions, workshops on spiritual practices, sports activities and activities for children.
